Eid-el-Kabir: Fayemi, Aiyedatiwa, Edema greet Muslims, preach love, selflessness

.Makinde charges Nigerians on commitment to nation’s growth

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has assured Muslim faithful in the state of inclusive governance by his administration.

Aiyedatiwa, who solicited the support of Muslims in the state for his administration, reiterated his commitment to rapid development of the 18 local councils of the state.

The governor, in his Sallah message to the Muslim community issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, on the celebration of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, harped on the sustenance of religious harmony and peaceful coexistence among the people.

Also, the gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the forthcoming November 16 governorship election in the state, Olugbenga Edema, has felicitated the Muslim community in the state on the occasion of the festival.

In his message, Edema, who emphasised the values of selflessness and love for the less privileged, stressed that Muslims should endeavour to embody the ideals of the Eid-el-Kabir in their daily lives.

Similarly, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, yesterday, called on all Nigerians to remain committed to the growth and development of the nation.
He gave the charge, yesterday, while speaking at the Eid-el-Kabir celebration in Ibadan.

The governor, who was represented by his deputy, Bayo Lawal, acknowledged the challenges that the nation had faced in recent times, but urged citizens to use the holiday as a reminder of the strength of Nigeria when united.

He emphasised the importance of cohesion and unity during the celebration.

Makinde, who noted that the state now ranks among the best states in Nigeria due to the support and cooperation enjoyed from the people, called for a self re-dedication towards collectively making the state more prosperous.

Earlier, the Wakil Mumini of Oyo State, Prof. Kamil Olosho, who led a special prayer for the governor and his administration, as well as the state, lauded the administration for its commitment to the development and growth of the state.

Meanwhile, former Governor of Ekiti State and former Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), Dr Kayode Fayemi, has extended his warm greetings to Muslim faithful nationwide and called on Nigerians to embody the ideals of the sacred festival.

In a statement signed by Ahmad Sajoh, Head, the Fayemi Media Office, Abuja, Fayemi said: “As we celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, I extend my warm greetings and heartfelt wishes to all our Muslim brothers and sisters across Nigeria

“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the boundless compassion of the Almighty and the enduring strength found in unity and community.”

He described the festival as a powerful reminder that true devotion requires sacrifice and a willingness to place the greater good above personal interests, urging the faithful to reflect on these ideals and embody them daily through empathy, generosity, and solidarity.
