United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi has confirmed that files related to convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein will be released on Thursday.

This marks a major development in the long-standing case.

Bondi also cited privacy concerns as the reason why it has been “taking some time.”

Speaking in interview with Fox News’ Jesse Watters, Bondi said that it was taking so long to release the “papers” because they were redacting the names of more than 200 victims.

“Other than that, I think tomorrow Jesse… you’re going to see some Epstein information being released by my office,” Bondi said.

“Hopefully tomorrow, a lot of flight logs, a lot of names, a lot of information.”

This is coming just days after Bondi teased plans to release documents connected to the convicted sex offender.

Bondi said last Friday that there are “a lot of documents” related to Epstein that are sitting “on her desk,” waiting to be reviewed.

KACRAN condemns Kaduna bandit attacks, urges repentant fighters to act

The Kulen Allah Cattle Rearers Association of Nigeria (KACRAN) has condemned the recent bandit attacks in Dawakin Basa Village, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, urging repentant bandits to take immediate action to prevent further violence.

In a statement signed by its president, Khalil Moh’d Bello, and shared with DAILY POST on Wednesday evening, the Fulani association expressed deep concern over the attacks, describing them as a betrayal of the peace agreement between the Kaduna State Government, local emirs, community leaders, and bandit leaders.

The incident comes at a time when Birnin Gwari stakeholders were celebrating the success of the peace accord, making the renewed violence especially disheartening.

KACRAN lamented this setback, noting that it undermines the progress achieved in restoring stability to the region.

“We also express our deepest condolences regarding this negative development and urge residents of Dawakin Basa to refrain from any retaliatory actions that could escalate violence.

“We call upon the Kaduna State Government to provide the necessary support and cooperation to repentant bandits to help them navigate the new security challenges in the region.

“We remain committed to fostering peace and stability in Kaduna State and Nigeria at large.”

Despite this setback, KACRAN urged Northern states to remain steadfast in their peace and reintegration efforts for genuinely repentant armed groups.

“KACRAN is profoundly affected by this situation. As a peace-loving association, we have celebrated the progress made through the peace accord between the Kaduna State Government and repentant bandits. We commend the dedication and courage of the Kaduna State Governor in this endeavor and urge other governors in the Northwest to follow suit.”

The association reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to peace and the eradication of criminal activities across the country.

The United Nations’ Human Rights on Wednesday accused Israel of showing an unprecedented disregard for human rights in its military actions in Gaza, stating that Hamas also violated international law.

According to the UN Human Rights Chief, Volker Turk, nothing justifies the appalling manner in which Israel has conducted its military operations in Gaza which consistently breached international law.

Turk stated this while presenting a new report on the human rights situation in Gaza, the Israeli-occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem to the Human Rights Council in Geneva.

The report by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, OHCHR, also accused Hamas of grave violations since October 7.

“Hamas has indiscriminately fired projectiles into Israeli territory – amounting to war crimes”, Turk said.

According to Israeli tallies, Hamas-led fighters killed at least 1,200 people and captured no fewer than 250 hostages in an attack on southern Israel on October 7, 2023.

In the same vein, the enclave’s health officials said an Israeli retaliatory assault laid waste to most of Gaza and killed more than 48,000 Palestinians.

The Palestinian militant group, Hamas, handed over the bodies of four Israeli hostages while it waited for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners to be released by Israel in return, in an overnight exchange marking the final swap as part of a fragile truce in Gaza.

Recall that the ceasefire came into effect on January 19 and has largely held, despite numerous setbacks.

However, its first phase is due to end this week and the fate of its next phase, which aims to end the war, remains unclear.

Hamas on Thursday said that it was ready to start talks on the second phase, and that the only way remaining hostages would be freed is through commitment to the ceasefire.

After days of impasse, Egyptian mediators on Wednesday secured the handover of the bodies of the final four hostages in the deal’s first phase, for 620 Palestinians either detained by Israeli forces in Gaza or jailed in Israel.

Recall that Israel had refused to release prisoners on Saturday after Hamas handed over six hostages in a staged ceremony.

The militant group had been displaying living hostages and coffins carrying hostage remains on stage in front of a crowd in Gaza before handing them over, to sharp criticism including from the United Nations.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said in the early hours of Thursday that Israel received coffins carrying the remains of the four hostages.

Hamas had previously identified the bodies as those of Tsachi Idan, Itzhak Elgarat, Ohad Yahalomi and Shlomo Mantzur, all of whom were abducted during the October 7, 2023 attack from their kibbutz homes near Gaza.

In a statement by Netanyahu’s office, the bodies were undergoing initial identification in Israeli territory and official notice would be given to the hostages’ families once the process is complete.

The handover agreement had also been held up previously after Hamas handed over the remains of an unidentified Palestinian woman instead of Shiri Bibas, before delivering the correct body the next day.

Medics said the unidentified woman’s body was sent back to a Gaza hospital on Thursday.

President Donald Trump of the United States on Wednesday raised hopes for another month-long pause on steep new tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada.

This was as he said they could take effect on April 2, and floated a 25% reciprocal tariff on European cars and other goods.

Trump’s previous March 4 deadline for the 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods, however, remained in effect as of this moment, pending his review of Mexican and Canadian actions to secure their borders and halt the flow of migrants and the opioid fentanyl into the US

The president sowed confusion during his first cabinet meeting on Wednesday, when he was asked about the timing for the start of the duties for Canada and Mexico and replied that it would be April 2.

“I have to tell you that, you know, on April 2, I was going to do it on April 1. But I’m a little bit superstitious, I made it April 2, the tariffs go on. Not all of them but a lot of them,” Trump said.

His comments triggered jumps in the value of the Canadian dollar and Mexican peso versus the greenback.

Canadian Innovation Minister Francois-Philippe Champagne had said that his country would wait for signed executive orders from Trump before reacting.

“Our mission is still to avoid the tariffs, extend the suspension if we need to. We are prepared – there will be a targeted, strategic but a firm response if Trump imposes tariffs,” Champagne said.

Meanwhile, Mexico’s Economy Ministry has not yet commented on Trump’s remarks, but said Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard will meet on Thursday with newly confirmed US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick on Friday.

Lutnick told the cabinet meeting that the fentanyl-related actions were paused for 30 days but referred to overall tariffs on April 2 without specifying whether the March 4 deadline remained in effect.

“So the big transaction is April 2, but the fentanyl-related things, we’re working hard on the border. At the end of that 30 days, they have to prove to the president that they’ve satisfied him in that regard. If they have, he’ll give them a pause, or he won’t,” Lutnick said.

United States President, Donald Trump on Wednesday issued an executive order aimed at implementing the Department of Government Efficiency, DOGE’s cost-cutting drive.

According to the White House, the order will transform federal spending on contracts, grants and loans to ensure that Government spending is transparent and Government employees are accountable to the American public.

The White House also said that all federal agencies must review contracts and grants for waste, fraud and abuse, and work with DOGE employees to review and terminate all unnecessary contracts.

The fact sheet provided by the White House stated that the order also directs the General Services Administration, which manages the federal government’s real estate portfolio, to create a plan for disposing of unnecessary government-owned or leased real property.

DOGE has swept through federal agencies since Donald Trump began his second term as president last month, putting billionaire, Elon Musk, the chief executive of carmaker Tesla in charge of an unprecedented cost-cutting campaign that has included thousands of job cuts.
