A delegation of European Union officials, visited the Tema Port on Friday, February 7, 2025, to assess preparations for the arrival of specialized military equipment donated by the EU to the Ghana Armed Forces and other related agencies.
The visit, formed part of efforts to ensure a seamless handover process, scheduled for February 26, 2025.
During their inspection, the EU representatives, scrutinized key logistical aspects, including shipping arrangements, clearance procedures, and the overall delivery timeline.
Their focus was on expediting the process to guarantee the timely arrival of the equipment, which is expected to bolster Ghana’s defence capabilities.
The visiting officials held detailed discussions with the Sector Commander and her management team, as well as port authorities, to enhance coordination and ensure the safe handling and storage of the incoming equipment.
The collaborative engagements reinforced both parties’ commitment to strengthening military support and infrastructure development between the EU and Ghana.
Prior to their visit to Tema, the EU delegation also stopped at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) to assess Ghana’s logistics infrastructure for the upcoming equipment transfer.
The donation, a significant gesture of international cooperation, will deepen security ties between Ghana and the European Union and contribute to regional stability.
